Upper School
Advising and Faculty
At Waynflete, students call faculty members by their first names—not because they are casual about learning but because they feel so closely connected to their teachers. They work hard to earn the respect of their instructors and that respect goes both ways.
Within small and diverse classes, Waynflete teachers are given the time and resources to create rigorous and challenging hands-on learning experiences around the strengths and interests of each student. They prioritize real-world problem solving, deep learning, and lively discussion as they explore a wide range of fascinating topics of study not seen in typical school curriculum.
Waynflete teachers stay late to look over another research paper revision, offer academic insight, help design and support independent studies, or talk about personal struggles. They bring snacks to homeroom, organize off-campus adventures, and cheer for their students at performances and games. And they continue to care about their students’ lives and progress long after they have left our campus.
